Farm Tours

JOIN US ON MAY 20, 2017 for a chance to meet your local farmer, George Giroskey, and a tour of Thistle Lane Farm, a local grass-fed beef and free-range chicken farm in Punxsutawney!

Thistle Lane Farm

415 Lipp Road

Punxsutawney, PA 15767

Tours start at 10am but the barnyard doors are open at 9!

This event is FREE but donations are appreciated. Our events are used to raise awareness in the community as well as for the Thistle Lane Farm Learning Center Transformation. Through Thistle Lane Farm, George hopes to educate our future generations about sustainable/humane agriculture, real food, health and wellness, and much more!

Tours & Times:
Come learn about what grass-fed beef is and why it’s better for not only you but for the animals, too.

There will be several cookouts held throughout the day between the tours. Menu will include:

Grass-fed beef straight off of Thistle Lane Farm
Homemade buns from Six Hand Bakery in Indiana, PA
Macaroni Salad – homemade pasta (made with Thistle Lane Farm’s free-range chicken eggs) from Nap’s Cucina Mia in Indiana, PA; mayonnaise base made from Thistle Lane’s eggs
Spring Mix Salad with homemade dressings and the option of locally foraged toppings
Homemade Ginger Ale…without all the bad stuff!

Family Scavenger Hunt!
Follow the signs around the farm to the different animal stations as you answer interesting and fun questions about barnyard animals! Adults beware – you may not know as much about animals as you think!

Join Season Petrovich of Homestead Yoga Studio, LLC for some adorable fun doing yoga while baby goats prance around! Yoga sessions are free and will be held throughout the day in between tour times. There will be some extra mats, but feel free to bring your own and hop in at any time!

Spring Water Collection:
There is a natural spring located on the farm for anyone who would like to gather some to take home with them. It is encouraged that you bring your own water collecting vessel, but glass jugs will be provided at a small fee.

Salsa Garden
Enjoy a chance to plant your own mini salsa garden to take home with you, including peppers, tomatoes, and more!

Please park across the street at Chestnut Grove Church as there will be NO parking available at the farm! Thank you!
